I know this is a very old thread, and a bit surprised it came up from the orginal date period. My 4 yr old yorkie does not smell at all. However she has a bad tooth and is scheduled to a dental soon, so sometimes she will have a little smelly breath , other then that no way. If something falls on her hair and it is not cleaned out then their could be a smell from what got onto her. You to maintain the coat of your dog, including dental care, if the hair is long you have to really maintain your yorkie's hair which can take a little time and effort on the owners part. If you have a smell on your yorkie tha will not go away, then it is time for a vet visit. i also have a shi tzu and she does not smell either, it is all a matter of grooming and caring for your dogs properly.
