I think this forum is based on opinion. Many have differing opinions but I would not fault anyone here for being too opinionated. We have dedicated people on both sides of this issue. Anyone who has watched a dog or puppy from a puppy mill suffer has every right to express strong feelings about the issue and everyone who is a dedicated breeder has every right to support what they are doing. I don't see why there needs to be name calling and bad feelings on either side here. I hope everyone is involved in what they are doing for the sake of innocent animals.
I haven't seen anyone forcing or pressuring anyone to take someone else's cast offs and I don't think that is anyone's opinion here. Adopting from a shelter or rescue is an honorable thing to do but I'm sure anyone who works in rescue would be the first to tell you it is not for everyone. They want the dogs that do find homes to go to a good forever home otherwise they are wasting their time.
It just amazes me that someone would be so insulted by someone who works to rescue animals, both purebred and mixed. Step back and take a look here. You are all for the same thing in principle.
As for the people who buy from pet stores and puppy mills..... they learn a high priced lesson and the ones who have lost adorable little babies suffer for it for many years. If rescue and purebred breeders could get together and work united against puppy mills they would be an effective force. We are not going to stop this abuse by saying mean things about each other or the puppy mills.
