My brothers dog had this...it is difficult to get rid of, and requires treatment at least 3-4 months AFTER ANY SKIN SCRAPINGS COME BACK NEGATIVE...every single mite must be killed or it will return with a vengence.Whatever you do, do NOT put cortisone cream on any of his lesions...that exacerbates the rash and it will erupt feriously. He had to bathe his dog once a week with special shampoo, dab lesions with special solution, and took Ivermectin by mouth for months...then he was on medication to boost his immune system. After a year or more, he finally got this stuff cured.....and he had it horribly....
