My little incident happened because I was a penny pincher when my kids were young, well, I still am, but that's beside the point.
I was boning a chicken with a very sharp knife. Somehow I sliced off the top of my finger middle knuckle . It was really a bad cut, and I knew about the chicken/infection issues. Since I had to finish dinner for a hungry family, I ran it under warm water, rinsed it with peroxide, and wrapped it with a paper towel and kept on cooking. Every time the blood started seeping through I'd rinse my finger off again and wrap another paper towel around it. My finger never got infected, but it sure did hurt and it took a long long time for it to heal. |
