Yea, they can get sorta gooey on the ends, but I have never noticed any growths or visual problems which I thought were serious enough to pick them up before the "length" limit was met. My biggest problem is keeping an eye on them, and not letting them get too short. |
My concern is the choking hazard when they get too short. I'm sure Gracie would try to swallow the end of one if I ever gave her the chance. I don't want to take the chance of it getting stuck in her throat. Could cause problems sitting in the stomach of a dog for several days also. A large dog might be able to pass it but could also cause a blockage in a smaller dog.
