Pups usually do that for a reason, either they're bored, or they naturally are working their teeth and gums.

Lots of people make the mistake of scolding their animal for doing it, without giving them something like a Bully Stick or Chew Toy in place of the wrong thing. Then, they forget to praise them, when they chew on the right things. Our little ones actually want to do what we want them to.

Ten months is still a little soon to be expecting one to naturally stop chewing because of dental growth. You might drop by the Vet, and see if he can identify any deciduous which he could remove, that may help things along....a little.
