I'm very surprised at the vet's reaction! Usually a lot of vomiting & diarrhea can cause dehydration & that can lead to death itself pretty quickly in a small dog and adding the blood would cause most vets immediate concern.

I don't know what it was but as previously posted, could be HGE or any number of things - which is why that vet's reaction is amazing. Hopefully, you can find a new vet for your other dogs as you've probably lost trust in this one.

I'm so very sorry for your loss. You must be stunned & lost feeling at what happened. I pray you can get through these next days knowing that whatever happened, at least your little one is no longer suffering and is at peace. R.I.P., sweet baby.
