Those people probably didn't know about the breed's reputation or didn't think their dogs could be that kind of dog or were just in denial. Who knows? I do know that those big old sweet Pits are easy to love. They are extremely loving & physical dogs - love to touch & cuddle, kiss you & keep pressing for more. You would never know by the way most act around humans what can be hidden within their genetic make-up. And this might have been a young couple & sometimes the young just don't believe bad things they hear about can really touch their lives. Still your heart just aches for that family and their great loss.
