I wonder if there's a method of training a dog to wear a cone? I can't imagine supervising 24/7. Joey had eye ulceration and a cone had to be worn for over a week. You might want to try training you dog to wear the cone for small periods of time each day until he gets use to it. I also think you might want to check the cone for sharp edges just to be sure nothing is hurting him. You can also wrap some fabric around the plastic cones to make them a little more comfortable.
