Zachary was fine when we brought him home from the breeder but in a week, he was peeing all over. Took him to the vet and he had a UTI. He is fine now.

We also have a almost 1 year old male Japanese Chin that was paper trained (because of our age and health issues, all our dogs are paper trained although some DO go out too) and suddenly he started holding his urine for a long time and then peeing anywhere. Took him to the vet and it was NOT a UTI but the vet suspected a behavioural issue (this happened BEFORE we got Zachary so it's not jealousy).

I read that if you have a sensitive dog (Yumble is) and harp on them for peeing in the wrong place, they will stop peeing at all or at least in the front of you. We have been working him and have found he will pee on the papers MOST of the time if nobody is in the room.

And they say these guys aren't smart....
