I love Pitbulls and think they are so sweet & beautiful but sadly, I don't think I would ever have one unless I knew the breeder & trusted them & that they had been breeding for years for temperament as well as conformation. I used to think the breed was ugly until I met & fell in love with one. But to have one of unknown breeding lineage, I would now be fearful of what it might have inherited - that tendency to go postal & not stop. Other dogs just usually just bite & withdraw, some even act "ashamed" or fearful after biting, run off, etc., but the pitbull so often escalates after a bite & then sustains that attack. It's a true shame what has happened to this lovely type of dog.
