And, there was one who surrendered, then turned around and trashed the daylights out of me and also YHR.
She used the fact that I was "mean" to her to turn it around...what she left out was our private telephone conversations....and in the end I bent over backwards for her to try and make it all easier...I even offered to pay for euthanasia if that was what she wanted to do. I also offered up to $500 if others would contribute...but most people did not want to give her money. I did not want to...just wanted the pup to be ok. The worst part of it all was that the people who assisted with it complained to me about how awful the experience was, how much they wanted to beat her for what she had done; but when people started trashing, they backed away and never stood up for what we had done.
Most people who surrender their pups, do so lovingly. Thank God ... I could not deal with that kind of nonsense again.
