You have 5 years under your belt...excellent start...I studied pedigrees and lines and genetics and diseases for at least 20 years, from 1980 until 2000...only THEN did I think I possibly knew enough to find an experienced breeder to mentor me before I rolled up my sleeves and jumped into breeding....so, it took me longer to learn what I thought was important to a breeding program, it than it did you....again, fact, not rude! Old breeders dont die off, sweetie....they live forever, in the outstanding, beautiful, solid, healthy, proven lines they worked a lifetime to develop! All those gorgeous Yorkies you see floating around a show ring, those reflect generations of lines developed by those "old breeders" you sneer at and perhaps feel contempt for. Hopefully, all present "new" breeders are striving to continue these outstanding, proven pedigrees, and do no damage to the years and years of diligent hard work from those that laid the foundation for us....I know I do my best with a mere 35+ years of studying and continuing education devoted to this breed. That too, is FACT...not rude! |
