My partner was under this impressions as well. "It's not fair, he should be able to breed, it's what he was born to do blah blah blah. He's so handsome, wouldn't it be nice to have puppies like him blah blah".
I said this was absolute nonsense and he was bred to be a pet and there are plenty of other adorable dogs out there!
