The problem with publicizing yourself before the media is you, by definition, invite public comment. Several YorkieTalk members read the articles, went to the Web site, and made their feelings known to fellow YorkieTalk members. That's the purpose of this forum: to discuss Yorkies. Some of the comments were positive. Some of the comments were negative. But they were all clearly opinions based on news reports and a Web site.
Conversely, some people with personal knowledge of the breeder came to her defense. I respected those opinions just as I respected the opinions of those who criticized her.
But calling YorkieTalk members who criticized the breeder shameful and "bitter" is just sour grapes. If you invite comment, you had better be prepared for all types of it.
And blaming misinformation on the reporter is a convenient excuse. I didn't see or hear anyone asking the paper to file a correction. | Well said! |
