Tibbe refused his food this morning & when I got back from PT, there were small spots of mucous diarrhea throughout the living room & a fairly normal stool in the bedroom. So unlike Tibbe! He's totally housetrained & clean in the house. He's also been scratching a lot since being on the Royal Canin though he has no fleas at all. Back to the vet we went - saw a different one this time. Everything once again all WNL & the stool sample I took in showed nothing besides some tiny bit of mucous. Vet thinks it could be the small amount of pizza he snapped out of my fingers yesterday when he was refusing his food & I was testing him to see if he would show interest in bread or anything besides his kibble. I held a bit of cold pizza toward his mouth with my fingers over the end of it & somehow that dog still got by my fingers as he jumped & grabbed a bit of pizza within my hand B4 I know it! I didn't see his BM last night to see if he had any diarrhea then but he had no watery/gassy sounds in his gut last night, unlike today. The vet said that bit of pizza on top of his already unhappy gut could have caused the mucous bits in the stool. No definitive diagnosis given.

So, we were sent home with some more Hill's GI I/D to mix with RC GI & to change to eventually since he seemed to do better on that can of Hill's ID we tried last week & I was told to restart his Pepcid AC once every 12 hours for a few days. (I'd kept him off it x2 days as it made him so sleepy & food-resistant). Within 20 minutes of giving him the Pepcid, he's sound asleep. I hope he does as well on the Hill's this week as he did last week. If so, we're staying on it for a while.
