I've learned over time that Roxy sometimes shakes/trembles just from excitement, not fear. It did take awhile to figure this out. Is there anything in her behavior that you could interpret as happy excitement?
When I reach to pick up Roxy from the floor, she will usually lower herself down on her right shoulder and scootch herself around in a circle keeping just beyond my reach as if to tease me and play a game of keep-away. I've learned that if I coax her up onto a chair or something, she doesn't resist me picking her up at all. She loves all dogs & people, so she doesn't really want to be left out of anything, just has her little games. Petting at home is pretty much on her terms when she wants it. If she's not in the mood, it's 'Oh well too bad, so sad!' She's such an independent stink pot! ;-) When we are out places & run into people, she's all wiggly excited to be close & want the petting & getting acquainted.
Good luck! |
