He said that most dogs lose all their baby teeth by six months if there are any left after that they need to be extracted.

Any advice? He goes in tomorrow morning at 7:30. I'm nervous and don't know what to expect. Do I limit his food and water intake? Will he be drowsy when he gets home? Is there a recovery time? Thanks so much for all your help.
This is pretty common in Yorkies. I had the same problem with Monkey and Maddie. It's a pretty quick and painless procedure. His mouth may be a little sensitive for the first few days, but they heal up very fast as it is not major surgery and there is nothing to stitch up. As with most things that require anesthesia, he will probably be drowsy and want to rest when he gets home. Monkey was almost 100% by the same evening, but like us, all doggies are different. You should ask your vet upon picking up your little guy as to what you should feed him. He will be the only one that will know how well he will be able to handle certain foods. Monkey was able to eat his regular hard dog food as normal (I thought that sounded painful, but the vet said he would be perfectly fine). Just make sure to ask your vet because you never know if he had any problems with a particular tooth, etc. If you're asking about food before surgery, most of the time you should not let your dog eat any food after midnight, but water is okay...BUT...I am not a vet nor do I know any of these things as a fact. This is just through my own experiences. If you still can, ask your vet. If you are not able to ask him/her tonight, just let him know before hand when he ate last and when he had water.
