I like the 'puppy purse' idea too. I looked through a previous thread dealing with pet insurance. Most of reponders to that thread indicated that they kept a designated credit card for their baby's emergencies. That's what I'm doing. I have a credit card that is completely clean. I've decided that that's my 'purse' so to speak.

Now, I had a Yorkie (a puppymill rescue) many years ago that made it to old age without any emergencies. So, you may not ever need to use a reserve fund for anything at all. BUT just in case - a money sources is a very very good idea.
