They only do that when they've been cooked..... When they're raw, they maintain their elasticity and don't splinter like that.

Pixie gets an all raw diet (absolutely no kibble for her!) and I have nothing but good things to say about it. The majority of her food is the frozen stuff from Nature's Variety. It comes in nice little 1oz medallions or 4oz patties, which makes portioning out her food very easy. She also gets organic chicken necks & chicken wings from a local health food store. Just be sure that they're taking the time to really crunch the bones and aren't just swallowing big chunks....
