Air conditioning is not just a comfort thing...it is a necessity in areas like ours. If I did not have that a/c, I would have to take my pups somewhere that had a/c.
Hurricane Ike introduced me to a multitude of new experiences....while I had purchased all these items for "just in case", I had never used them....after Ike, out came my generator and my portable a/c, even a window unit for my bedroom, because, like you said, it is a matter of life and death for our babies with this humidity and heat! I had no electricity for almost 2 weeks, but I had a working refridgerator, an a/c, a small tv and a coffee pot that kept us all alive!
