Really, I hope the lady was just having an off day. She had no business saying such an awful thing no matter what she is going through though. That is just unkind and heartless. If the woman has a chip on her shoulder about backyard breeders and such she should take it out on them and not on a pet owner and her beloved little dog in the pet food department!
