As far as I know the YTCA which is the National Club in America, and who is responsible for maintaining and changing the standard of our breed, has not addressed as yet the tail docking question.
In most of Europe it is now the Standard for all breeds to have natural tails.
In Canada our National Club is looking at changing the standard to allow for docked or undocked tails to be allowed to show in the ring.
If your children want to get into Junior Handling, and you should check this out, but I believe the competitions are based on the Handling skills of the Junior, and not so much on how well their dog that they are showing meets the breed standard.
Also check out UKC, as they likely would be more open to natural tails on breeds. So your kids can get involved in junior handling at UKC shows.
