I am not stopping the vaccines altogether...I just dont get them every year...I don't think it's necessary but, this is JMO..and my vet is on board with my decision. As for heartworm......I would NEVER stop this one.....MO again...Heartworm is VERY painful for the animal and the treatment for them is horrible...The vet my parents use said she would rather put and animal down that is infected then to see them have to go through the treatment for it....As for fleas and ticks....I 100% agree with you! I started a couple of threads on using essential oils for flea and tick repellents...Lemongrass oil is a good one for flea/ticks and even for us as an insect repellent....peppermint oil is another good one...don't use it full strength though...mix 1 cup water and (start with) 15 drops of essential oil...spray a paper towel and wipe it over the animal....I did google recipes for flea/tick repellent using lemongrass oil and it did say you could spray it on the animal...not sure if I would do that...
