I DO have a new carrier ordered, bigger and with a LOT more ventilation. The floral quilted one I have now has a solid bottom but squishes in on him and only is ventilated on the ends.
Any suggestions how to get him more comfortable with being carried in a carrier if the larger more ventilated one doesn't work???

How about putting a diaper on Zachary when you bring him along? It will not stop his pooping, but it will make cleaning up a lot easier. At least until he feel comfortable being carried around in his bag. His drooling is very likely bec of anxiety. First times I brought Mollie along, and she's not relaxed in her bag, I'd either put my hand against the mesh so her nose touches my hand or I slip my hand inside the bag and rub her head or tummy until she calms down.
