this WAS a fun event, I think there were about 150 dogs, many were dressed to the nines and some had funny costumes, one was dressed as Gene Simmons from Kiss and there was a Wizard of Oz trio. My mom and Dad both in their mid 80's came and dressed in aqua, so did my sister and niece, I had a matching name dress made for Lucy my sisters yorkie, but I felt bad because Lola only wore the aqua one. They had about 55 beautiful baskets filled with tons of great items and you got three tickets when you arrived and you could put your ticket in front of the baskets you liked, there was a silent auction and a 50/50, the 50/50 winner donated the money back to Yorkie 911. People came from all over the state of NY, NJ and even CT plus I met a few people that came from further away. The dogs from yorkie 911 must have modeled about 30 outfits, many from the expensive designers and some even lit up. The lunch was a fabulous hot buffet with an all out calorie busting desert table. Lola is such a happy girl and loves every dog she meets, so I let her run off leash through the ballroom several times, and she was prancing around jumping up and running down the runway just having a blast. I wound up sitting on the runway at one point and a few other ladies came over with their dogs and before you know it we had about 25 dogs running back and forth and jumping up and down, tons of people were crowded around taking pictures. My dad said to me, do they have this every year, because I want to come back next year! The price of the ticket was $50.00 so it was affordable for most people. Of all the people I met only a few knew of yorkie talk, but of course I told everyone they should join. Hopefully next I will go back and get a few other Yorkie talkers to join me, it was a good cause and a great time. I think I am done entering contests they stress me out and then I don't have as much fun because I am worrying about her bow and dress and so forth. I really did not mind not winning because there were many other really great outfits and even though we did not win, people were still very complimentary toward Lola, curious about what she was mixed with, and loved her tail, so like any crazy yorkie-pom mom that made my day.
