Do you know the calorie content of the canned food? That seems like a lot even for puppies that can need twice the calories an adult the same weight would eat! I'd listen to your vet but maybe stick with the lower end of the recommended amounts he gave you just to see how your puppy does with it. 13 ounces seems like such a large volume of food for a small pup to eat! I'm sure the vet has recommended the amount based on the food that will provide your pup with the adequate nutrition though. |
