I have read & saw some doctors discussing on CNN, that it can produce multiple tumors at or near the treated site or cause aberrant cell lines. I think I remember they were discussing its use on athletes with worn/torn meniscii or ACL's, I think - can't recall which. One doc was all for it since he said the benefits outweigh the problems & the other was somewhat horrified by that attitude. Both did agree trials should go forward but the more reserved specialist thought successful treatment without high incidence of unintended consequences, some of them several years down the road after treatment, was years & years off, if ever. The other was more optimistic it wouldn't be that long.
