Absolutely not a stupid question! I haven't had to put any chemicals in the pool. I'm not sure if it's because the pool is so new, or because I have it in a screened in area that it is staying completely clean. When I lived in Louisiana last year I had this pool in my backyard (uncovered). I did need to use chemicals in the pool because the water turned yucky and the walls got a little slimy. Like a regular pool, though I just waited a day or so before letting Cooper swim. He doesn't normally lick up the water like that!
