Bread and cheese (and/or, human food in general) isn't 'bad' for him, per se. But, it's not a nutritional breakfast for a dog. The cheese could constipate him as well. Maybe use a tiny piece of bread/cheese for between meal treats...?
For breakfast, do you have dog food available? That would be the easiest way to get Mondo the nutrition he needs.
