We went to visit the breeder and puppies twice. The first time he was very quiet. He allowed the adult dogs (his mother, grandmother and sister) to sniff him and he sniffed back. When I was holding the puppy he hopped up onto my lap saw the puppy and got back down. Then he jumped back up and gently sniffed the puppy. On the second visit he wasn't interested in socializing with any of the dogs or puppies ... he just stood around and whenever I sat down he hopped up onto my lap.
We would love to have a second dog but I'm not so sure Teddy is in love with the idea.
What are your thoughts, suggestions, advice on how to successfully introduce a new puppy into the household? |
It's going to take him a while to learn to interact with other pups. I would try setting up Yorkie play dates so he can learn to play and socialize. My Avery barks at dogs when we walk, only because he wants to sniff and meet...
