There are many more here with more training experience... but I trained my girls to come when called using training treats. I used a leash w/harness and treats to train them to know where I wanted them to be when someone is at the door.
both coming when called and not going out an open door without permission are important for her safety. There are plenty of threads here on training - whichever method you choose, be consistant and Laney will soon understand what you expect of her
