My solution to this, to ensure their safety, is that I put an ex-pen up, surrounding the front door, and a baby gate on the side door to the garage. Any door that leads to unfenced areas is secure. I know there is training that can be done, but in the meantime safety first
As to the snatching, I think it is a Yorkie thing
I practically have to throw myself down on the floor to beat my Izzy to stuff. If I drop a piece of anything in the kitchen, she thinks it's bonus time. She's a little better than she used to be, we're working on it, just by firm UH UH and the Leave It command. Luna isn't that interested in anything on the floor and will bring me anything she finds, it's so cute
