I've been thru allergies w/ Marcel, and it's tough. My opinion is that once it's affecting their quality of life (keeping them up at night, as it did Marcel), it's great to look into add'l treatment options.

If just a certain time of year is really bad for her, then she could be an ideal candidate for seasonal treatment using Temaril P, or steroids. If it's year round...and bad all yr round, then I'd be leaning toward Atopica and/or allergy testing (if you want to give allergy shots).

Where is she scratching? Is she chewing/biting/licking her paws? Ears okay? Check her armpits for inflammation (can look like speckly black pattern, not necessarily red in armpits). Any red patches on tummy, inner legs, neck, back etc could be pyoderma (skin infection)...which would need antibiotic.
