I think they must hurt so much from that. I remember Jilly was hunched up when she walked so we gave her pain medication until that stopped. It was like whatever she had had just stripped the skin or surface off the insides of her stomach/G-I tract & for I think 5 weeks she went through this. My little dog was going down & only had very mildly elevated liver/pancreatic levels they were testing for - nothing that indicated true disease process. But they started her on antibiotics from day 1 & I really think those tipped her over the edge because right after every dose, boy, the vomiting/bloody diarrhea really ramped up. If I skipped a dose, she stayed better. So they kept changing her antibiotics & on & on, plus cimetidine, nausea meds but nothing was stopping - she was just getting worse. Vets kept insisting she eat the Science Diet special canned food - it made her worse. So, finally once I said, "If she's going to have to be put to sleep, give me a day or two to try just simple treatment & withdraw the antibiotics, etc". They gave in & I brought home dry Science Diet Sensitive Stomach, gave her those OTC meds & my little ray of sunshine started coming out of it - getting better! I just don't know what got her better in the long run but I definitely fed her small meals - much smaller portions than the vet recommended. Her little tummy could only tolerate extremely small amounts of food until she got well. So you never know what worked sometimes or if it was all just about to happen from the vet treatment anyway. I hope your Bianco finally has turned that corner! I will keep you all in my prayers.
