Yes, they are so good at hiding pain. My former foster dog Katie had been living with 6 large LARGE! bladderstones for years. Her pee was straight red, not even pink. It broke my heart seeing her like that for even one night (when I picked her up she was already scheduled for vetting the next day) yet her former owner said she acted normal and seemed "fine". The largest stone was about the size of a McNugget. Now think of that in yorkie bladders.
Really, even if your york seems fine, preventative care is a lot less costly than emergency care.
