You did the right thing. I am VERY lucky that we have a small housing addition (60 houses in all) and we have lots of dogs of all sizes. We have never had any issues with any other neighbors and Brutey has a few "girlfriends" in our hood. I would have been really ticked off as well. Glad you got the apology you definately deserved.
