Have you ever adopted from Yorkie Rescue? Am I being too excited/anxious? I do not even know if the dog is still available. Wouldn't they do an initial contact with me before they started an investigation as to my suitableness? | I can only answer for the Rescue Group I volunteer with. First off I noticed that you said you filled out the application on May 26,that was a Saturday and going into a 3 day week-end as well. I know our Rescue Group does their Home Visits on week-ends, so new applications are not pulled off the system and sent to the Apps Processor until Monday. I am one of the Applications Processors for our Rescue Group. The first thing I do when assigned an application is send an email letting the applicant know we received their application. The I do Vet Reference Check, IF that does not go well then a letter is sent to them telling why the application will not move forward. IF all checks out the Vet Check, we then do an inital phone interview with the applicant after that we let applicant know the application will sent to the Foster Mom with all notes reagrding the Vet Check and the Inital Interview. Then the Foster Mom will call and talk with the applicant about the pup they are wanting to adopt. If all goes well that, then a Home Visit is set up. Then it goes from there. So the whole application can at times take 1-2 weeks. You also have to remember that Rescue Groups are all Volunteers and most have job's, families and Fosters. So while it may seem like a long process, all checks and balances have to be done for a reason. We want the very best homes for the dog's we can find. I still can't understand why they haven't sent you an email letting you at least know the application was received. But all Groups work different.
