My 8 year old bichon, SammE is very allergic. Once upon a time he took more than his share of benadryl just to stop the scratching and biting. He just about bit his tail to pieces! It was awful.
He was always PINK, scratching, itchy...miserable. He scratched his face so much he inflamed his third lens which is now balled up in the corner of his eye for ever, now.
He reacted violently to his last series of shots and almost died. Ok. NO MORE SHOTS. NONE.
He is on Stella and Chewy's Chicken patties or Sojos turkey and that is all. I keep fleas and bugs at bay with something called mosquito barrier on the lawn. We don't frequent woods, pet places ever!!!!!!
He is a changed dog. NO MORE PINK. NO MORE CHEWING ON HIMSELF. NO MORE DRUGGED OUT BENADRYL DAYS. woo hoo. I think it's the food.
Good luck to you. ((((HUGS))))
