I found the easiest way to leash train is to just follow them and not tug or pull. They get use to the harness and leash this way and then after a few days of this, just gently tug in the direction you want them to go and say something like lets go, or come or what you want in order to get them going. They don't like to be forced, and will bulk at that, so gentle does it.
