I have thawed it many times and refrozen. It's fine. It only effects the taste in that you are more likely to get freezer burn etc. My dogs don't mind at all. When I buy the chubs I thaw them and then freeze in mini muffin tins and then once frozen I put in baggies. That way I can take out the little muffins and thaw individually. The chubs are cheaper than the medallions usually. Of course, I also primarily feed PMR. I can leave chicken in the fridge for about a week and it's fine. Other's leave it longer but I usually try to just feed over 3 or 4 days. Also, I have learned that it's best to leave the chicken uncovered. I actually just read that the bacteria that makes chicken smelly thrives when the chicken is covered or in a baggie. When you leave uncovered, it doesn't get smelly. I didn't believe it at first but it really is true. |
