I fell in love with the Yorkshire Terrier one day when I went with my hubby to one of his customer's homes. He was there to collect his final payment for the dock he built. Anyway, this man was a veterinarian and he had the most adorable little girl Yorkie, Muffin I could not tear my eyes off of her and that started my love for Yorkies. I didn't get one right away, as we were renting and you know how that can be. Very unstable here in Florida, a lot of landlords don't allow pets, etc. It was a good ten years until we finally bought our own home. I got my first girl Starr soon after. A friend of ours had a cousin staying with him, and the cousin's girlfriend. The girlfriend had a female with a litter of 3 or 4 (can't remember, I only had eyes for Starr). She was asking $300 for her and we were going to get her in a couple of weeks. Our friend called the next day and said come get this puppy now, forget the money. Turns out that she wasn't cleaning up after the dogs, and she was letting the neighbor kid play with the puppies and one got dropped and hurt. He couldnt' stand it and knew the pup would be safer with us, as the ditzy woman didn't even get the puppy vet care I wanted to take all the puppies, I swear, but knew it would be too much for us.

We lost Starr just shy of her third birthday, and I knew we had to have another someday. DH got Luna the very next day, he couldn't wait!! I then demanded we get her a companion, as I feel our Starr was very lonely at times. I love this breed so very much, and I will always have at least one Yorkie in my home and heart, as long as I can properly care for them
