After a year into my relationship with my husband (then, just boyfriend), he convinced me to get a boxer and I loved him although he shed a lot, required a lot of clean up and exercise. When we moved to a house, we got him a boxer companion which I adore as well. They are 7 and 8 years old now and absolute joys (Tiesen and Lennie).
My DH and I got married a little over 2 years ago and have been trying for a baby since then. We have gone through the ringer to try and get pregnant (you know the deal)
! Through many sleepless nights, fights, etc., I thought my world was coming to an end.
In January, we decided to go on a house hunt to redirect our energy and I met the cutest female Yorkie at a house we were looking at. I became so infatuated with her that I did not pay attention to the house at all!!!! She sat on my lap and played with me and I could not stop thinking about her so I did some research on the breed, begged my husband for a Yorkie and found a great breeder. Here we are!!!
I must say that there has never been a day that I regreted my decision even though I have 3 dogs, am going to graduate school and work full time as a teacher for children with special needs. Max has turned out to be the best dog I could ever imagine to have and has even helped me get over my baby fever. He is going on 8 months old now and can sit, shake, roll over... all of it!!! He is completely potty trained and has very few behavioral issues (for the most part). I attribute his greatness to many different things. 1) Yorkie Talk!!! 2) His great big brothers 3) Yorkies being a superior breed 4) I love him soooooo much that I see no false!!!!
As long as I live, I will always want a Yorkie. I think there is something special about a person's first Yorkie though. I cry even thinking about the day that Max will go to rainbow bridge. Quite frankly, this site has helped me in so many ways but I'm so paranoid reading all the horror stories on here. Anyway, I am truly thankful for all the support and knowledge all of you offered me and I truly believe Max is so much better off because of this site! Thanks all!!!
