I think it will be a wonderful way for a teenager to spend the summer & he will learn a lot about dogs & people. He will grow up a lot. It takes a tough skin. What he hears at that shelter in particular is going to rock his world some days, no doubt. It is really hard to believe the state some dogs are in when they arrive & some of the things people do & say about the dog. It's tough work on many levels, as you well know. Kudos to him & you for doing this hard but loving work.
