Default itching-the list

Latte was itchy and scooting (with twirling!) for several months. She developed a bacterial infection with little sore pimples on her chest and legs. She didn't. ever vomit or have diarrhea. She had a yeast smear which was negative. We are on our third food trial, oat and kangaroo. Yesterday I finally had the VARL allergy test for food allergies. (I am tired of guessing.) We found out a while ago that she is hypothyroid and that explains some of her itching. She uses Ketachlor shampoo once a week for yeast (just because the smear is negative doesn't mean there's not yeast on her skin). She takes thyroid supplement twice a day and a Zyrtec. She is currently being weaned off a short course of prednisone. And she has an antibiotic for the bacterial infection, confirmed yesterday as well. The last few days have been the best in months!! Latte is 10 now and she has had allergy issues for about 6 years. The scooting was a new symptom about 6 months ago. I know it's not her anal sacs-she gets those expressed every 2 weeks and they are fine. Oh! And because she's old, her vulvar area has little folds near it and these get itchy-the vet and I think-and so I have put Desitin on that area to help the skin stay soft. I think the scooting has been a result of that and the scaly skin on her belly.

All in all, she's adorable and I am about to have my nap with her and her Lambie. I hope this helps. I did a lot of research myself, but be careful-too many internet articles can freak you out!
