Many years ago my dalmatian had 7 puppies, she got sick with a fever when they were 2 weeks old. We rushed her to the emergency vet and he said we would have to wean the puppies. We had to separate the mother and puppies. After we would feed them we would let her in to clean them up and stimulate them to pee/poop. After a week her milk dried up and she could stay with them again. They were so sweet curled up with their mom.

After the mother's milk dries up, they can be together again, I would let them spend more time with their mom.
