Well the baby could just come for a visit and just never leave. Your hubby will become very attached and won't seem to mind, or you could just give the baby as a gift to your hubby then he can't say he wants to return it because there is now where to and then you could say that they poor sweet thing would end up in a rescue if you don't keep it and after all it was a gift to him.
