This is actually about my maltese. I tried to post a question about this on a maltese board and the only thing posted was: why isn't she spayed and am I a breeder. Anyway I know you guys don't mind if I ask this here. Do you have any info or advice?

My maltese went through her first heat cycle last month. She is a year old. Everything went fine except that right at the end of her cycle her nipples got swollen. I thought that it would go away and just kept checking her. It's been almost a month and they are still swollen.They are not huge or dripping milk. I don't think they have milk at all, just swollen.

I will be calling the vet today but just wanted any opinions at all on the matter. Is it false pregnancy?
