I have to admit that I had Millie's baby coat cut off too, because it was easy to mat, a pain to brush and was starting to get real dry on the ends. She had a cotton coat. After I cut it, her coat is silkier to the touch, does not mat as easily and is much easier to brush. But she still is a cotton coat. She still has that cottony fluffiness about her when her hair gets longer. Her coat only "feels" silky to the touch, because all the dry ends are cut of and its the real new hair that I am touching.
Once a cotton coat always a cotton coat, but cutting it did make it much more managable and combable. And I love to feel her and touch her because the new hair is so soft and silky. |
