hahaha, i had the same problem. so i used the teathering method. ziggy was always attahed to me by leash *and harness* so i would spot the signs and take him to his spot. we had accidents, as puppies this is expected, but it ended up fine. he's perfectly potty trained and has been for a while, he even will pee/poo on command because he knows what a named it "goo potty" so road trips and visits to other homes are all so stress free. It takes time but they do learn. hang in there
